Sri Lanka received USD 712 million in workers’ remittances in October 2025, according to the latest data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
From January to October 2025, total remittances reached USD 6.52 billion, reflecting a 20.1% increase compared to the same period in 2024, the CBSL stated.
In addition, official figures show that tourism earnings for the first nine months of 2025 surpassed USD 2 billion. Revenue from tourism between January and September amounted to USD 2.47 billion — a 5.3% rise from the USD 2.34 billion recorded in the corresponding period last year.
