Sri Lanka Customs is poised to meet its annual revenue target for 2025 within the next few days, according to Customs Director Chandana Punchihewa.
He revealed that on November 6, the department recorded its highest-ever single-day revenue, amounting to Rs. 27.7 billion. This surpasses the previous record set on October 15, 2025, when Rs. 24.4 billion was collected.
“This marks the highest single-day revenue collected by any tax authority in Sri Lanka’s history,” Punchihewa stated.
As of November 8, Customs has accumulated Rs. 2,066.7 billion in revenue, edging close to its annual goal of Rs. 2,115 billion (Rs. 2.115 trillion).
“At the current rate, we expect to meet the full-year target by next Wednesday and potentially exceed it beyond that point,” he added.
